Upon leaving public accounting, he joined a full service investment bank where he researched both private and public companies that were seeking capital, worked on several IPOs, and structured and performed due diligence on over $500 million of publicly offered real estate and oil and gas partnerships. His subsequent work included public financing of non-profit hospitals, school districts, and other municipal facilities, and led to the pioneering development of tax-exempt Certificates of Participation financing for major construction projects.
His subsequent experience in both public and corporate finance, and as a Managing Director with Morgan Stanley, included the successful management of over $1.5 billion in projects that included private and public offerings of debt, IPOs, venture capital investments, real estate partnerships, private equity buy-outs, and business combinations.
He left investment banking to co-found a personnel staffing company that grew quickly to 14 offices nationwide with revenues that exceeded $20 million after the first two years of operations. After serving as COO/CFO for several years, he subsequently transfered his ownership to devote his efforts to raising capital and managing the financial development of start-up and small to medium sized companies.
